Veere is a picturesque village on the island of Walcheren, located on the shores of Lake Veere (Veerse Meer). A visit to this town is definitely worth it. Enjoy authentically Dutch shops and atmospheric restaurants. Because it is located on the lakeshore, it is also the perfect place to make a round trip across the lake.

In the centre of this town, the connected shopping promenades begin their generous offer of shops. Everything is close together. The town has many restaurants and cafés on and around the market to relax after a vigorous bout of shopping or walking. Shops are open till later on Thursdays, and Tuesdays and Saturdays are market days.

Middelburg is the capital of the province of Zeeland and is also known as the attraction capital. This nickname comes from the city’s many attractions and sights, which can be found within walking distance from the historical heart of the city with its core of department stores and specialist shops. Middelburg is also a good choice to go for a day of shopping. Apart from the wide array of shops, it’s also a great place to relax on one of the many patios on and around the market square.

Zierikzee is the central town on the island Schouwen-Duiveland in the province of Zeeland. The town ramparts, gates and historical monuments have mostly remained intact, and give Zierikzee its character. Zierikzee is also a good town to go shopping, and with plenty of cafés and restaurants.

The North Sea beach
Schouwen-Duiveland is known for its clean, broad and quiet beaches with impressive dunes. Renesse is centrally located along the long stretch of Schouwen-Duiveland’s North Sea beach. Partly due to the number of sun hours, the Shouwen-Duiveland beach is very popular. To provide space for all types of beach lovers, the coast has been divided into various types of beach. Every beach type has its own options and limitations. There are family beaches for people with children, nature beaches with tranquillity and space, (water) sports beaches and zones for nude recreation and extreme sports. The Schouw beaches are accessible all year long, and also worth visiting in the winter months!
